GM Classics & Chevy 2 Only Newsletters

January Edition
12 January, 2013

Dear GM & Nova Enthusiast,

There is little need to say it because there is no explanation as to why it is here so fast again! It is a new year, you know the number... 2013!

We have two large announcements for this newsletter. The first is the winner of our 2nd half of the year giveaway of a $250.00 gift certificate! This customer was chosen from our invoices from July to December, 2012... and the winner is... Junior White from Camdenton, Missouri!

The second large announcement is the winner of our prize pack for December, chosen from the December, 2012 invoices and the winner is... Jim Howe from Lincoln, Nebraska!

Congratulations and happy New Year to both of these customers!

We have released our events calendar for the New Year; check out our 2013 Events Calendar.

Our next show is in the planning, the Nashville Auto Fest at the Tennessee State Fairgrounds which runs January 19-20, be sure to get your orders in early because our space is limited!

Soon after this show we will be back in Nashville for the Stones River AACA swap meet on February 3rd, one day only.

We are extending our sale of in-stock radiators until the end of January; continue to take 10% off! Better hurry because spring will be here before you know it! To take advantage of this offer call our Nova Parts Hotline (+1-502-239-8487) and mention the offer and the code: 8675309.

Happy 2013!

Bob Mehlhoff's Z/28 Camaro

Bob Mehlhoff's Z/28 Camaro

A memorable time for this car and I was back in the '70s in Boise, Idaho when I took a road trip from Los Angeles to Boise, Idaho in the summer of '77 with a buddy of mine to go fishing at his grandfather's. I think the round trip was about 2,500 miles. By the way, that trip was with 4.10 gears and a Muncie Four Speed! Like all '69 Z/28s, there was no air conditioning. But when you're 19 or 20 years old, who cares? I still own this car and it is getting close to about 40 years since I bought it for $1,900.00 in the San Fernando Valley, California. The car's best e.t. in the '70s with open headers, the 140 Chevy cam, and traction bars was 13.90 @ 103 mph. The original owner bought the car at Jack Shaw Chevrolet in Euclid, Ohio. Within a year or two the car was moved to Southern California  (before any Ohio rust could really occur). Twenty years ago I completed a frame off restoration that included taking the body back to bare metal and repainting it with original No. 72 Hugger Orange Lacquer. The rest of the drive-train was returned to box-stock (exhaust manifolds, smog pump etc). It has ALWAYS been powered by its high-winding 302 engine! It was my only means of transportation in the '70s and lots of memories. Today it is garage kept and my son and I take it out on occasion.
