GM Classics & Chevy 2 Only Newsletters

August Edition
27 August 2014

Dear GM & Nova Enthusiast,

Wow has it been crazy since our last newsletter! The Nova Nationals are now behind us and the Street Rod nationals done for the year! Checkout the photos of both shows later on in this newsletter...

Repairs are still underway on project 7245 after the Hot Rod Power Tour. Fixing a leaking rear axle seal was our first small project that turned into more work than we thought! It seems not only was the cheap looking foreign seal defective but the axle bearing (Ford style) had some play in it from side to side. To correct this we had to mill the aluminum disc brake backing plate down to lock the bearing in place; it was hard to believe the manufacturer of the 12 bolt rear says this play is acceptable! I think not.

The August heat is upon us so stay cool! We hope you are able to go out and enjoy your favorite car shows and cruises. If we can help you with your Nova or other GM Classics, be sure to give us a call!

Featured Nova (50th Feature!)

This month we are happy to feature Michael Gerdes' 1966 SS. This will be the 50th Nova that we have featured on our chevynova.com website! That's hard to believe! We hope you have enjoyed reading these features as much as we have! Maybe we can include your Nova in our next 50? If you are interested in having your Nova featured, feel free to contact us.

August Featured Nova: Michael Gerdes

"This project started by acquiring a running car that someone had roughly stuffed a 468 into the original front end.  The original intent was to clean up the car and have a simple street car or bracket racer.  Well things quickly developed into a much larger and complex build..."
